Tacos y Tequila: Authentic Mexican Flavors and Vibrant Margaritas in New Braunfels, TX

After a weekend that was totally out of control, my hubby and I were like, 'Time out, let's take a breather!' So we cruised over to Gruene (which, can I just say, I am completely and totally in love with?) and landed at Tacos & Tequila. I couldn't finish my drink, my margarita was the size of a beach ball and it was not all ice. Freshly made eats, check. Insanely delicious Mexican food, check. Leftovers for 7 whole days, check! It's official, this place is one of our fave Mexican spots in San Antonio - and that's no small feat, considering we've got more Mexican restaurants here than Utah's got churches!

10/10! First time and did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed everything. The food was delicious. Quick service and very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing! I wasn't expecting much. I am new to Texas and I guess I haven't had good Mexican or Tex-Mex food in a long time, because I just never get my hopes up anymore. But this place did not disappoint. I sat at the bar during lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a Pineapple Habanero margarita (so yummy and not too spicy). It was delicious! I highly recommend trying. I'm not typically a margarita girl, but I would order 4 more of these. To eat I had the Mahi-Mahi Street Tacos. They were so flavorful and the perfect portion. They were loaded with a mango salsa which complemented the fish very well. Even the rice and beans were packed with flavor. The service was great! The bartender was very attentive. I will definitely be back when I visit Gruene!

First time in here since it was Adobe Verde. Both the food and service were 5 star, and a marked inprovement over the last place. Michaela was awesome! She was very friendly and on it as a server, great knowledge of the menu, and great recommendations. The birria tacos were delicious, and I'm all about the top shelf and Jalapeño margaritas. If I would have stayed for one more drink the atmosphere would be 6 stars. Will definitely be hitting future happy hours and live music nights.

Came to share an evening with family and absolutely love it. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is great. The food is so good.

DANG!!! I’ve been coming to a location at this restaurant for 40 years. This new version is by far, no, beyond far the best yet. They managed to keep the atmosphere of the old structure while making it even more enjoyable. The menu was completely updated and excellent. The frozen margaritas are out of this world. I highly recommend coming to Tacos Y Tequila. Oh, and ask for Cheyenne. She’s an amazing waitress.

10/10 by far the best place we’ve tried in new braunfels! Cheyenne was great and helped us with the menu and drinks. We got the Mini cantaritos and gruespitas. Super yummy.
